Aeon Wars is a limitless digitally native miniature wargame set in a sci-fi universe where humans and aeons, sentient AIs, have colonized a moon called Leng located at 14 light-years away from Earth. There, the third Aeon War has erupted after 56 years of peace. It is a war on three fronts between the human-dominated Nesuv Empire, the corrupted aeons from the Arkosys organization and the forces from Earth with many other factions caught in between or allying with different sides. The Maschinen Crisis universe combines military science fiction with cyberpunk in a distant future where war erupts between humans that have enslaved aeons, others that have embraced them and aeons that reject humanity.
As a commander, choose your faction and lead them to victory. Collect, build, and customize your army. Engage with your friends in large scale battles and deadly skirmishes. Battle in the rocky plains of Ashkalon, the ruins of Zothland to the cities of the Empire itself. Deploy powerful mechs, special units and unique characters to save humanity or end its dominance on Leng.
The Universe
Maschinen Crisis is a hard science fiction universe. It is set 400 years into the future on another solar system with a moon called Leng sharing the same rare characteristics as Earth. There, the great powers are amid a global war with no end in sight. The Maschinen Crisis universe explores the multi-layered interactions of politics, technology, humans, and robots.
The central theme of Maschinen Crisis is the struggle between humans and sentient machines (aeons). Three great powers compete to impose their worldview on Leng:
- Nesuv, a human centric Empire where aeons are slaves and technology has gone back to the levels of 1999 on Earth.
- Arkosys, an organisation of radicalised aeons (arkons) for whom humans are a disease to be eliminated.
- Pax Terra, the world government of Earth where humans and aeons live in harmony and for whom peace must be brought on Leng for the greater good.
Influences for Maschinen Crisis are Ghost in the Shell, Maschinen Krieger, Battletech, Terminator and Bubblegum Crisis mixed in with a WWII scale war epic.
