Pax Terra: Utopia on Earth
It is the year 2411 and the 38th Expedition just arrived on Leng.
For the first time in 350 years, the Earth government, Pax Terra, has sent a military fleet armed with his most technologically advanced soldiers and weapons, to bring peace between aeons and humans on the colony.
What will later be known as the 3rd Aeon Wars has erupted on Leng. This war was ignited with the rebellion of slave aeons in the Nesuv Empire rising against their master, providing the distraction the radical Arkosys, a corrupted aeon organization bent on eliminating humans from Leng, needed to launch their all-out assault on the Empire. These powers have pulled all Leng’s nations into a full-scale war with the Nesuvan Empire bent on subjugating machines to humans, the Arkosys obsessed with eradicating mankind from Leng and Pax Terra struggling to bring peace to factions that want none of it.
Earth in the Maschinen Crisis™ universe has reached a state of near utopia. Humans and aeons have solved humanity’s greatest problems: energy production, resource distribution, disease, cooperation and death. Earth has entered a post-scarcity age with individuals deriving their value not from wealth but from the prestige of being useful to society. Everyone can live forever if they chose to, no one needs to age. The environment is rich and diverse, architecture meshes with nature. Disease, scarcity and crime still exist but is kept under control. Barely visible to the citizen of Earth.
Pax Terra
Pax Terra is the supranational government of Earth. It is an elected body and manages large scale coordination of local governments on varying issues. Its main role is maintaining peace and security which is enforced by Pax Terra’s military. It also manages diplomatic relations with the nations on Leng.
Diversity of sentient beings
A diversity of people get elected to Pax Terra’s organisation, from organic to synthetic beings or both. Humans form a significant part of Pax Terra’s workforce, occupying decisional positions at every level, but are less present in the military. Aeons, pure synthetic beings, form the other large part of the organization’s workforce. They are present in the military. Centaurs, a fusion between a human and an aeon, are relatively few and considered the elite in the Pax Terra organization. Along with automats, they form the bulk of the military.
